Solubility Lab
In this lab you will test to see which substance if more soluble: C12H22O12 (sucrose, aka table sugar) or NaCl (table salt).

First of all, define solubility: ___________________________________________

Directions:

Part I

1. Carefully measure out a 250 mL of water in a beaker.
2. Measure out 5 grams of sugar and add it to the beaker.
3. Stir the sugar until it is completely dissolved using a glass stirring rod.
4.  Repeat this procedure (keeping a careful record of the amount of sugar you add to the beaker) until some sugar remains undissolved on the bottom of the beaker.
5.  On the data table record the amount of sugar required to saturate the beaker of water.

Part II

Repeat the steps above using salt instead of sugar.
