Colligative Properties Lab
Purpose:
  To plot the relationship between the 3 solutions of different concentrations and

Procedure:

-Make up 3 solutions of salt and water in three separate beakers (0 M, 1 M, 2 M).
-Stir the solutions until the salt is completely dissolved.
-Heat the beakers on a hotplate.
-Record the temperature of each solution and amount of time elapsed every minute.  See below for a format of setting up your table.
-Plot the three relationships on the same graph (time = x, temperature = y).

What similarities did you notice between the three lines?
What differences did you notice between the three lines?
What do your results tell you about colligative properties?
 

Lab Report:

On a separate sheet of paper write (type) this experiement as a formal lab report.
-Purpose- recopy or describe (accurately) in your own words.
-Procedure- recopy or describe (accurately) in your own words.
-Materials- from the Procedure.
-Data- both the numbers and a graph.  (must be neat; I would prefer spreadsheet).
-Conclusions- answer the questions above.  Refer to your data in your responses.  Be thorough.
