Warning: There are spoilers
below. Do not read the following unless
you have read both Angels
& Demons and The
Da Vinci Code. Or read on and save yourself some time.
I just read Angels
& Demons by Dan Brown the other day. Aside from all the
clichés in the writing, wasn't this just an unbelievable rip off
of The
Da Vinci Code? I couldn't believe all the parallels in the
story structure right down to the details. I should have kept a more
thorough list of similarities as I was reading it, but here's are a few
I came up with just now:
Robert Langdon is brought in by a stranger
to interpret an unusual murder scene
Wheelchair guy
Female protagonist is an orphan
Secret societies are at odds with the Catholic
church
Jesus has a child; the Pope has a child
The decendant of Jesus/Pope turns out to be
one of the main characters in the end.
